Abstract
'Two-component' phosphorelay systems, once thought to be used exclusiv ely by prokaryotes, have in the past few years been shown to exist in eukaryotes. A two-component system in Dictyostelium has now been shown to modulate protein kinase A, a key regulator of multicellular develo pment in this organism.
