We report new limits on the production of muonic photons in the CERN n
eutrino beam. The results are based on the analysis of neutrino produc
tion of dimuons in the CHARM II detector. A 90% CL limit on the coupli
ng constant of muonic photons, alpha(mu)/alpha( <(1.5 divided by 3.2)x
10(-6) is derived for a muon neutrino mass in the range m(nu mu) = (1
0(-20) divided by 10(5)) eV. This improves the limit obtained from a p
recision measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon (g -
