Further support is provided for the self-consistency of the kinematics
of the special theory of relativity (KSTR) (I) by considering Einstei
n's formula for the general Doppler effect; (2) by reconsidering some
arguments by Dingle and by McCausland; (3) by answering questions from
a referee who thought McCausland had an absolute physical concept in
mind, but which I claim is either metaphysical or Newtonian, or else i
ncorrect when interpreted operationally. A swings-and-roundabouts theo
rem is proved for the round-trip clack paradox. It is tentatively sugg
ested that parity breakdown might be caused by the weak microwave cosm
ic radiation and that this could be experimentally tested. Some prehis
tory is recalled concerning the branching universe theory of H.J. Ever
