We introduce an experimental technique which allows the characterizati
on of domains in nonmagnetic cubic crystals of the zinc-blende type. T
he technique exploits the optical anisotropy of cubic crystals near an
excitonic resonance which translates to a dependence of the reflected
light polarization on crystal orientation. We demonstrate sub 10 mu m
domains on the [110] surface of a high quality, homoepitaxially grown
