Abstract
A correlation between interface strength and data of acoustic emission measurements in particle filled polymer composites was found. The met hod allows the evaluation of the interface strength in situ in polymer composite specimens at uniaxial loading. The measurements have shown that the tailored interface with the monomolecular tethered polymer la yers of various grafting density change the mechanism of microdefect f ormation.
