Abstract
The concentration fields around ammonium chloride dendrites growing fr om super-saturated solution were measured interferometrically in a two dimensional system. The relationship between tip velocity and super-s aturation was determined both on the interface and remote from it. The results show a morphological transition and are compared to a model b y Brener which relates such a transition to differing anisotropies of surface tension and kinetic effect.
