Abstract
We construct a dynamical model from experimental data obtained in a se miconductor laser system with optical feedback. We show that the low-f requency fluctuations arise from an inverse saddle node bifurcation an d that the laser behaves as any other excitable system. (C) 1998 Elsev ier Science B.V.
