Abstract
It is shown that Dorodnitsyn's MIR is less accurate than the published results let suppose (Dorodnitsyn, 1962). The modified method (Debruyn e, 1993) is extended to the four-strips case and gives better results than the initial method. On the Falkner-Skan test case, numerical conv ergence is obtained when the number of strips is increased. Neverthele ss, the numerical solution differs from the analytical one for a funda mental reason which raises questions on the validity of the method.
