Abstract
The concepts behind externally linear, internally nonlinear integrator s are reviewed, and the context in which such integrators can find use in signal processing is discussed. Several examples of specific cases are offered, including log-domain, exponential state space, square ro ot domain, piecewise-linear, and nonlinear capacitance circuits, Sever al issues requiring caution are discussed.
