Abstract
A new meteorite, the Juancheng chondrite, fell recently in Juancheng C ounty, Shandong Province, China. It is classified as an H5 (S2) chondr ite on the basis of the compositions of olivine (Fa 19.2, sigma(Fa) 0. 46), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs 16.9, sigma(Fs) 0.4) and Co contents of kamac ite (0.36-0.47 wt%). Plagioclase is compositionally heterogeneous.
