Abstract
Reactions of strong bases with beta-triphenylstannyl substituted propi onitriles give high yields of alkenes under mild conditions through, p robably, an E1cB mechanism; under the same reaction conditions, beta-t rialkylstannyl substituted propionitriles give substantially lower yie lds of elimination products.
