ACUTE COMPARTMENT SYNDROME OF THE ARM

Compartment syndrome of the arm, although uncommon, may result in sign ificant disability if the diagnosis is missed. A high index of suspici on is needed, particularly in those patients at high risk, especially intoxicated or comatose patients. This article discusses the relevant anatomy, pathogenesis, diagnosis, prognosis, and complications of this syndrome.
