M. Iglesias et al., THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF THE TERNARY MIXTURE ACETONE PLUS METHANOLPLUS ETHANOL AT 298.15 K, Journal of chemical and engineering data, 43(5), 1998, pp. 776-780
Speeds of sound, densities, and refractive indices of the ternary mixt
ure acetone + methanol + ethanol have been measured at 298.15 K and at
mospheric pressure. The excess molar volumes, changes of refractive in
dices, and isentropic compressibilities were determined from the exper
imental data. Several methods for predicting multicomponent derived pr
operties from binary data were tested. The Peng-Robinson and Soave-Red
lich-Kwong equations of state were also applied, with three different
mixing rules, to calculate binary interaction parameters and predict t
ernary excess volumes, satisfactory results being obtained for this mi
xture.
