The coelomycete Colletotrichum gloeosporioides was isolated in pure cu
lture from subcutaneous nodules of the left forearm and elbow of a far
mer after traumatic injury. To our knowledge, we report the first case
involving this fungus as an etiological agent of subcutaneous infecti
on. The in vitro inhibitory activities of amphotericin B, itraconazole
, ketoconazole, miconazole, flucytosine, and fluconazole were studied.
