Abstract
The kaolinite samples KGa-1b and KGa-2 are used as standards by the Cl ay Minerals Society of America. Recently a comparative study of these samples was carried out using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and X-ray diffraction methods (XRD). The aim of the current work was to characte rize the kaolinite standards by high resolution nitrogen adsorption an d to investigate how their surface heterogeneity changes upon sample c leaning.
