A semiclassical method, which treats the vibrational motion quantum me
chanically and the relative motion classically, is applied to study co
llision induced dissociation in He + H-2. The semiclassical method pro
vides a reasonable agreement with previous full quantum mechanical res
ults [K. Nobusada, K. Sakimoto, Chem. Phys. 197 (1995) 147], and is ve
ry useful to gain a deep understanding of the dissociation dynamics. T
he method also enables us to discuss some quantum mechanical effects f
