Ga. Korneeva, ASSESSMENT OF THE FUNCTIONAL-STATE OF THE BLACK-SEA WATER BY THE LEVEL OF ENZYMATIC HYDROLYTIC ACTIVITIES, Izvestia Akademii nauk SSSR. Seria biologiceskaa, (6), 1993, pp. 909-913
Amylolytic (AA) and proteolitic (PA) enzymatic activities have been st
udied on the research ship <<Vityaz>> (September-October, 1992) in the
sea water at various horizonts of the 0-100 m layer in Golubaya Bay s
lope and in open water of the Zmeinyi island and Fillofornoe field she
lf zones. Irregular small-scale vertical variability of AA and PA was
observed. The activities in the shelf water were much higher than thos
e more distant from the shore or in the abyssal zone of the Golubaya B
ay slope. Express enzyme-substrate tests allowed to reveal regions unf
avorable to the enzymatic process. Promising development of enzymatic
methods for assessment of the functional state of natural water is dis
cussed.
