Abstract
We present a pump-probe technique that enables to describe the tempora l behavior of the phase shift induced by cascaded second-order non-lin earities inherent to frequency mixing processes. We have measured this shift for degenerate and non-degenerate frequency summation from femt osecond pulses in a beta-baryum berate crystal.
