Dj. Dunlop et al., THE PRACTICAL USE OF AXILLARY BRACHIAL-PLEXUS BLOCK FOR HAND SURGERY, Journal of hand surgery. British volume, 20B(5), 1995, pp. 677-678
A retrospective study of 178 patients undergoing axillary brachial ple
xus block (ABPB) for hand surgery used information gathered by a compu
ter-aided anaesthetic record keeping system. The practical use of loca
l techniques to augment the block meant that only two of the 178 patie
nts required a general anaesthetic, giving a success rate of 98.8%. Th
ere were no significant complications.
