Abstract
The solid residues of a cellulose liquefaction process were examined b y thermogravimetry-mass spectrometry (TG-MS). The thermal decompositio n of the residues obtained at different liquefaction conditions (tempe rature and residence time) was studied, The solid residues originated from the low, middle and high temperature regions of the liquefaction processes exhibit highly different behavior, The comparison of the TG- MS curves of 15 residue samples led to a deeper insight into the react ions of the liquefaction.
