Abstract
The ratio (k(exp) + k(isc))/k(PYR) was determined as a function of tem perature for the singlet nitrenes derived from pentafluoro, 2,6-difluo ro, and 2,4,6-trifluorophenyl azide where k(PYR), k(exp), and k(isc) a re the absolute rate constants of reaction of the nitrene with pyridin e, ring expansion, and intersystem crossing, respectively. Activation parameters were deduced for the three singlet nitrene processes.
