Abstract
Cobalt phthalocyanine was synthesized within the cavities of Y zeolite s and was characterized in all the steps of the synthesis and purifica tion procedures by elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared spec troscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, s urface analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, differential thermal anal ysis, X-ray diffraction, and conventional transmission and high-resolu tion electron microscopy. Besides the cobalt phthalocyanine (12% in we ight), other nitrogen-containing compounds (2% in weight) are associat ed to the acidic sites of the zeolite and/or axially coordinated to th e cobalt complex.
