Energy spectrum of yrast band for Cs-122 is studied by using particle-
rotor model (PRM) of odd-odd nuclei, in Which special attention is pai
d to the model basis accounting for the effect of the instability gamm
a vibration perturbation around axial symmetry. In order to check the
assignments of this band, two calculation schemes are put into practic
e. The first one is for previous pi h(11/2) X nu g(7/2) configuration
with bandhead spin I-o = (6(-)) which was obtained from cranked shell
model (CSM) calculation, and the other one is for pi h(11/2) X nu h(11
/2) configuration with I-o = (9(+)) supported by the systematic analys
es of experimental data. A qualitative comparison between the present
PRM calculation and that of GSM has also been made. The results indica
te that, rather than pi h(11/2) X nu g(7/2) with I-o = (6(-)), pi h(11
/2) X nu h(11/2) With I-o = (9(+)) is it more reasonable assignment to
the yrast band in Cs-122.
