Abstract
3,4-Dimethyl-6-perfluoroheptyl-2,5-dihydridine (1) is obtained by hete ro Diels-Alder reaction between 2,3dimethyl-1,3-butadiene and perfluor ooctanonitrile at 50 degrees C and pressures of 1 and 1500 bar, respec tively. 1 gradually eliminates hydrogen to give 3,4-dimethyl-6-perfluo roheptylpyridine (2). The investigation of influence of high pressure on this reaction showed a significant increase of yields of both heter ocyclic compounds at 1500 bar. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd.
