Abstract
Bi-2212/Ag thick films have been melt-processed under the influence of a 10 T magnetic field. With a liquid phase present, the Bi-2212,grain orientation can be controlled by the magnetic field. Under these cond itions, the c-axis of the Bi-2212 grains produced is always parallel t o the applied magnetic field direction and does not depend on the Bi-2 212/Ag interface orientation. As a result, a 10 T magnetic field enhan ces the Bi-2212 grain orientation and texture development for thick fi lms. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
