This paper deals with a new type of vibratory gyro-sensor using a flex
ural same-form double-mode disk resonator with additional inertia. Thi
s vibratory gyro-sensor can be supported at its center of gravity, and
has a hat structure to meet, at a right angle, the axis of the angula
r velocity to be measured. The principle of the basic operation and th
e practical structure of the vibratory gyro-sensor are described in th
e first part of this paper. In the second part of the paper the experi
mental results of a prototype gyro-sensor are explained. Moreover, the
modified vibratory gyro-sensor of the diaphragm type is also describe
d in this paper. The results obtained proved that the disk-resonator p
roposed by us operated as a gyro-sensor and showed relatively good gyr
o-sensor characteristics.
