IMAGING AN ABHERRENT INTERNAL CAROTID-ARTERY

Blood flow via an abherent internal carotide artery within the tympani c cavity is a rare pathogenic embryonic variation causing pulsatile ti ntinus and a vascularized tympanum. CT-scan provides the diagnosis. MR I and 3D time-of-flight MRA appear ideal for exploring abherrent flow both for diagnostic purposes and to establish the vascular morphology.
