Dg. Gajghate et al., STRATEGIC CONSIDERATIONS FOR LEAD POLLUTION-CONTROL IN KANPUR CITY, Journal of the Indian Chemical Society, 75(5), 1998, pp. 293-296
This paper deals with the lead pollution control strategies in the per
spective of ambient pollution profile for the year 1991-92. Lead is mo
nitored in ambient air for Kanpur at three locations : industrial, com
mercial and residential, deploying atomic absorption spectrophotometry
. The ambient lead level for a typical inland industrial/commercial ci
ty is discussed here based on seasonal variations, monthly averages, a
nnual means and source profile. The results project that the gasoline
based autoexhaust is the predominant source for lead pollution in Kanp
ur city.
