Heat capacities of pure Ni and Ni-Pd solid solutions have been measure
d through the temperature range 300 to 900 K and through the whole sys
tem by differential scanning calorimetry. The Curie temperature, trans
formation enthalpy and entropy of the magnetic transition were determi
ned by means of heat capacity measurements. The data of the heat capac
ities well above the Curie temperature have been fitted with the metho
d of least squares. A linear dependence on temperature was assumed for
that temperature range. For medium concentrations anomalies were dete
cted, which can be attributed to disordering of chemical short-range o
rder.
