Abstract
A dynamically selective wavelength add/drop multiplexer (WADM) and a m ultiwavelength cross-connect (M-XC) configuration for dense wavelength division multiplexed networks are proposed. Multiple channels add/dro p and/or cross-connect can be realised according to the control of the optical switches and fibre Bragg gratings arrangement. The selective WADM and M-XC devices could provide more reconfigurable flexibility an d survivability in WDM networks.
