Abstract
We propose a cell renormalization group for self-avoiding walks (SAW's ) in the square lattice based on a new center rule. The results for la rge cells are obtained by simulation. We calculate the effective fract al dimension df (b) for SAW's in cells of size b (3 less-than-or-equal -to b less-than-or-equal-to 22) at criticallity. Small deviations of d (f) (b) from the asymptotic value indicate a correction-to-scaling exp onent DELTA = 1.
