Abstract
6-Methyl-3- (prop-2-ynylsulfanyl)-1,2,4-triazin-5(2H)-one 1 on refluxi ng with hexamethyl phophoric triamide (HMPT), in the presence of catal ytic amount of PdCl2(PhCN)(2) affords 2,6-dimethylthiazolo [3,2-b][1,2 ,4] triazin-7-one 10 via an interesting Claisen rearrangment. This str ucture has been confirmed by unambiguous synthesis of 10.
