Abstract
The effect of alumina on withasteroids having 5 beta, 6 beta-epoxy-2-e n-1-one 1a, 5 beta, 6 beta-epoxy-4 beta-hydroxy-2-en-1-one 1b and cycl ic allyl ether 6c systems has been studied. Attempt has been made to r ationalise the difference in the behaviour of 1a and 1b.
