STUDY ON INCLUSION PHENOMENA OF TRANS-9,10-DIHYDRO-9,10-DIPHENYL PHENANTHRENE-9,10-DIOL AS HOST MOLECULE

A compoumd having chela shape, trans - 9, 10 - dihydro - 9, 10 - diphe nyl phenanthrene - 9, 10 - diol (1), was synthesized. It could form th e inclusion compounds with various small organic molecules such as DMF , DMSO, pyridine, piperidine, quinoline isoquinline. These inclusion c ompounds were confirmed by means of IR and powder XRD, and their host- guest molar ratio was determined by H-1 NMR. The results of four circl e XRD for single cyrstal of the inclusion compound of the host molecul e (1) with DMF shown that the host molecule (1) formed coordinatoclath rate with guest molecules.
