Flow of the compositions based on LDPE and rubber powders of various d
ispersity made of used tires was studied, It is shown that the rheolog
ical properties of PE melts containing a disperse elastic filler are g
overned by the concentration and the size (surface area) of the filler
particles. The viscosity of the composition melt depends on the hydro
dynamic effect caused by the filler particles, the adsorption interact
ion at the polymer-filler interface, and the percolation structure for
med by the particles. It was established that compositions containing
dispersed elastic filler retain their ability to viscous flow without
changes in the phase state of the components within a wide range of fo
rmulations (up to 90 wt % filler). The rheological properties of a giv
en system are determined both by the viscous flow of polymeric matrix
and the pseudoplastic properties of a disperse filler (rubber powder).
