The mechanical, sorption, and permselective properties of membranes ba
sed on chitosan and chitosan complexes with carboxymethylchitin were s
tudied as dependent on the polymer structure and its changes caused by
water-temperature treatment. It was shown that the selectivity of chi
tosan films in the pervaporation of water-isopropanol mixtures increas
es with an increase in the degree of the polymer deacetylation, while
the selectivity of films based on chitosan complexes with carboxymethy
lchitin enhances as their composition approaches stoichiometric and as
a result. of the water-temperature treatment.
