Abstract
The authors review the clinical and diagnostic aspects involved in lep tomeningeal disease due to solid tumours, leukaemias and lymphomas. Th e importance of the combination of clinical findings with cerebral spi nal fluid (CSF) examination and imaging studies in making an early dia gnosis is underlined. The raising prevalence of this complication of s ystemic cancer deserves specific attention on the part of neurologists involved in consultation liason with general medicine and oncology.
