Abstract
Data can be replicated in a database system in order to improve availa bility and performance. In this paper, we impose a hypercube structure on the copies of data items. A protocol is then developed using the i nformation of the logical structure to manage replicated data with hig h availability and st the same time minimize the communication cost in curred for some networks.
