Abstract
In this case report we describe a patient with a primary malignant fib rous histiocytoma of the stomach, diagnosed and operated upon during t he sixth month of pregnancy. We stress the importance of a thorough di agnostic examination in cases of severe anaemia during pregnancy. Alth ough very rare, malignancy of the gastrointestinal tract should be tak en in consideration. No holding back is justified in diagnostic and th erapeutic measurements because of pregnancy. Radiologic examination of the gastrointestinal tract should be replaced by endoscopy. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd.
