Abstract
Spectroscopic and scintillation properties of RE3+AlO3:Ce pure and mix ed perovskite crystals are presented for RE3+=Y3+, Gd3+ and Lu3+. Qual itative interpretation of gamma-ray induced centres in the crystals (u p to 3000 Gy dose) have shown that different types of impurities, such as O- hole centres and F+ electron colour centres, arise in these cry stals and can change the RE3+ ion valency or even change the ion valen cy unexpectedly.
