Abstract
Low-temperature absorption and fluorescence (including self-fluorescen ce) spectra of Am3+ in the elpasolite lattice have been studied in the regions of the F-7(6)<--F-7(0) and L-5(0)-->F-7(0) transitions, corre spondingly. Ten crystal field sublevels in the F-7(6) and L-5(6) level s have been localized and assigned. The crystal field parameters have been calculated for the AmCl63- complex.
