Abstract
The room temperature mid-infrared fluorescence spectra of CsCdBr3:Re ( Re=Pr, Nd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm) under various excitations have been investi gated. Numerous Lines have been observed in the 3-5-mu m transparency window of the atmosphere. Fluorescence lifetimes have been measured fo r the most interesting transitions. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A.
