Hm. Ayres et al., EFFECT OF PERMEABILIZING AGENTS ON ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY AGAINST A SIMPLE PSEUDOMONAS-AERUGINOSA BIOFILM, Letters in applied microbiology, 27(2), 1998, pp. 79-82
A simple Pseudomonas aeruginosa G48 biofilm on stainless steel discs p
rovided a useful primary screen of the potentiating effects of various
permeabilizing agents on antibacterial agents. Experiments with Ps. a
eruginosa suspensions could not be used to predict the effects of bioc
ides and permeabilizers on biofilms. Although antibacterial activity a
gainst biofilms was less than demonstrated in suspension tests, potent
iation by some permeabilizers was still observed.
