Abstract
The low-frequency optical properties of zigzag carbon tori are studied within the gradient approximation. The absorption spectrum directly r eflects the characteristics of the low-energy states. It exhibits a lo t of peak structures. The spectrum intensity decreases as frequency in creases. Excitation energies and spectrum intensity strongly depend on the toroid geometry, such as radius and width.
