Abstract
The fruit of Cherimoya (Annona Cherimola, Mill) known in Italy under t he name of Annona, was investigated in a study of the characteristics of subtropical fruits grown in Calabria. Amino acids, sugars and main mineral components were determined in five cultivars of Anona grown in the Reggio Calabria area. The composition of Annona seems to be simil ar to that of other subtropical fruits, though some differences were f ound among the various cultivars which can be helpful in their charact erization.
