Abstract
As the third millennium approaches, it is apparent that Three Mile Isl and and Chernobyl have had a far-reaching impact on the increasingly t ough economic environment of nuclear energy production in Europe and t he US. Currently North Asia remains the only region with rapid growth of nuclear power in the world. This paper looks at the present situati on in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China with a view to understanding how this will change in the next few years. It does this from the perspect ive of business opportunities that might arise for the British nuclear industry.
