The Drinfeld-Sokolov construction of integrable hierarchies, as well a
s its generalizations, may be extended to the case of loop superalgebr
as. A sufficient condition on the algebraic data for the resulting hie
rarchy to be invariant under supersymmetry transformation is given. Th
e method used is a construction of the hierarchies in superspace, wher
e supersymmetry is manifest. Several examples are discussed. (C) 1998
