Na. Jones et al., MASSAGE THERAPY ATTENUATES RIGHT FRONTAL EEG ASYMMETRY IN ONE-MONTH-OLD INFANTS OF DEPRESSED MOTHERS, Infant behavior & development, 21(3), 1998, pp. 527-530
Massage therapy attenuated right frontal EEG asymmetry in one-month-ol
d infants of depressed mothers. Right frontal EEC asymmetry (a pattern
associated with depression) decreased during and immediately followin
g the massage session, indicating that massage therapy reduced EEG asy
mmetry and might possibly reduce symptoms of depression.
