Abstract
Recent advances have been made in our understanding of the relationshi p between the atomistic structure of silicate melts and how time-depen dent changes in structure are related to transport properties and the rate of change of thermodynamic properties. In situ, element specific experimental techniques, in particular nuclear magnetic resonance, tha t can probe local structure in liquid and glass have been crucial in r elating melt dynamics to glass structure.
