Abstract
Osteoporotic fractures are a major public health problem. Gastroentero logists see many patients at risk of osteoporosis, particularly those with coeliac disease and inflammatory bowel disease. in this paper, th e extent of the problem is reviewed and a strategy of investigation an d treatment is recommended.
